Ruddington Library is reverting to its pre-pandemic opening times from today (5th October).
Since March last year our library has been completely closed during three COVID-19 ‘lockdowns’ and then reduced to opening just two half days a week ever since. Whilst Tuesday’s hours had already been extended recently – with a second opportunity each week to visit on Friday afternoons – the Church Street premises are now also open again on Thursdays and Saturdays during the times shown below.
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 9.30am – 5.30pm
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 9.30am – 5.30pm
Friday: 9.30am – 5pm
Saturday: 9.30am – 1pm
Peter Gaw, CEO at Inspire : Culture, Learning and Libraries, says: “We are pleased to return our normal opening hours at Ruddington library from today. There is the usual warm welcome to everyone both current library customers and new.”
Mr Gaw continues: “We are keen to welcome all those babies, toddlers and their carers back in and if they missed out on their BookStart pack then we have packs for you to collect. Inspire , which delivers the service on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council , is pleased in this National Libraries Week to launch its new ‘Community Makers’ programme offering a range of new ways you can get involved in your local library.”
Library manager Oonagh Greenwood adds: “I’m really pleased we are returning to normal hours from today. It is really good news for everyone in the community. We look forward to seeing everyone!”
It’s now expected the monthly ‘Rattle, Rhyme and Roll’ sessions for babies and toddlers will resume in Ruddington soon, too.
